Staying productive is vital to getting your design work done, but if try getting tasks completed in an uninspiring workspace, you'll quickly see how unproductive you can be. 1. Establish Zones

There's nothing more demotivating than trying to find the pen you need to finish a hand-drawn design. Streamline your search by making it easy to locate the items you need in the first place by establishing zones. Get acrylic containers to hold small items like paper clips and staple where you can clearly see them, and keep them within arm's reach. Set up your planning area by hanging up a mood board for inspiration.

2. Get the Right Lighting

If you can't see what you are doing, you can't be productive. Eliminate this problem with the right lighting in your work area. Opt to set up your workspace in a place with tons of direct light, but also buy a bright light that mimics daylight and allows you to work in the evening or on a dark day. Remember that seeing is believing, and you need to see to believe you are actually working.

3. Sit in Serenity

You want to make sure that nothing gives you an excuse to stop production. Create a serene place to sit by adding a chair that's comfortable and works as a visual inspiration. Choose a chair in a vibrant color and add a cushion or fur rug for a seat that is both aesthetically pleasing and relaxing.

4. Clear the Clutter

Making a mess comes with the territory of design work and can even encourage creativity, but you don't want to make it so cluttered that you are counterproductive. Having too many items on your desk and floor can send your mind into a tailspin. Remove unnecessary clutter at the end of the day and keep out only what you need to stay organized and productive.

5. Decorate With Fonts

Using typography as wall art can easily add a drop of inspiration in your day. Create a copy of your favorite quote and put it in a frame on your desk. Try channeling your photography skills and take pictures of signs around town to hang on your wall. You can even try creating a copy of your favorite meme that's gone viral on social media if it makes you smile.

6. Double-up on Monitors

Expand your workspace to produce digital products by using two monitors. When you use two monitors, you can dedicate one to your digital artwork and the other for reading news, planning your next project with a digital mood board, or holding video conferences. It's an instant way to combine utility with motivation.

7. Get a View

There's a whole world outside of work, and you need to remember that now and then. One way to accomplish this is to incorporate a view from your desk or craft table. Set up your station in front of a nearby window with an inspiring view. Are you working in a space with no window? No problem! Get creative and paint your favorite scene or slap on a custom-made wallpaper of an ideal vacation spot on your wall.

There are so many ways to inspire your creativity to start or finish up your projects. Whatever you choose, make sure it encourages you to get creative by turning your desk into a space you want to go to and get productive.
