How to Draw a Peach

Today we take you step-by-step on how to draw a peach. Peaches are a favorite among many people. From peach cobblers to color palettes and popular sayings, a peach will cross your path in one way or another.

Before starting this drawing tutorial, get your supplies together. Our drawing tutorials can be used with any medium you have on hand, like pencils or paint, and digital mediums like Procreate and Photoshop.

In this drawing tutorial, we are using Procreate. We have a great selection of Procreate texture brushes for you to use in this how to draw a peach tutorial.

Step 1 - Create a Rough Sketch of a Peach

We are going to first create rough sketches of a peach shape using a medium that is easy to remove, like a pencil. If you don’t have a pencil, you can use a light color of your medium that you can easily cover up when adding color.

For our how to draw a peach tutorial, we used these watercolor and pencil Procreate brushes for our rough sketches and to add color to our peach.

Make your first rough shape by sketching a circle. Your circle doesn’t have to be perfect, so feel free to freehand it.

Next, we are going to add shape to the top and bottom of the circle. At the top, sketch an indent, much like you have with a heart. You can make this indent deeper and wider to give your peach more shape. At the bottom, sketch a more pointed end as we did below in our example.

Lastly, sketch some leaves. We added a narrow stem in the center of the top indent and added a small and large leaf, one on each side of the stem.

Step 2 - Outline Your Peach Sketch

Switch over to a more defined medium to outline the rough sketch of your peach. Take note of overlapping sketch lines. You don’t want to outline everything as you won’t need all the sketch lines in your final drawing.

See our example below to see which sketch lines we outlined and some extra lines we added to give more definition to our peach outline. Once you are done outlining your peach sketch, go ahead and remove the sketches.

Step 3 - Color in Your Peach

In our final step of how to draw a peach, we are going to add some colors using orange and green colors. We used watercolor brushes and gave our digital watercolor peach a noticeable texture using layers and blend modes in Procreate.
