In this tutorial, we will show you how to quickly use photo effects in Pixascape.

First, open a photo in Pixascape. We'll use a picture of an old wooden boat dock.

Step 1 - Open the Effects Panel

Click on the Effects tab on the left to open the Effects panel.How to Use Photo Effects in Pixascape 14

Step 2 - Select an Effects Category

In the Effects panel, you will see four categories to choose from depending on the effect style you want to use on your photo. You can select Cartoonizer, Digital Art, Sketcher, or Painting.

Step 3 - Select a Photo Effect

Once you've selected a category, you'll be presented with all the different photo effects in that category. Scroll through the list and choose the one you want to try.

Note that the larger your image, the longer it will take to prepare the effect.

Step 4 - Adjust the Photo Effect Intensity and Apply Effect if Ready

You can use the blue slider to adjust the intensity of the photo effect.

If you are happy with the photo and are ready to apply the effect to the image, click the blue Apply button.

If you would like to fine-tune the effect, continue on to the next step.

Step 5 - Open Advanced Effect Settings and Apply Effect if Ready

Click the Effect Settings button next to the heart to open advanced effect settings. You can fine-tune the effect even more with these settings.

Adjust Detail

Use the Detail slider to adjust the sharpness of the effect's details.

Below is what the image looks like with the Detail slider at 0, 50, and 100.

Adjust Color Range

The Color Range slider affects how much color there is in the image.

Adjust Hue

The Hue slider will change the hue of the image.

Below is the image with the hue set to 0°, 90°, and 180°.

If you are satisfied with your photo, click the blue Apply button to commit all the changes.

If you would like to go back and adjust the overall intensity of the effect, click the x button in the top-right corner of the Effect Settings popup, then go back to Step 4 in this tutorial.

If you want to remove all the advanced effect settings made so far, click the Cancel button.

Step 6 - Save Your Favorite Effects

With so many different photo effects, it might be hard to remember which ones you like or where they are located in the list. You can save the photo effects that you like to your Favorites list to find them easily.

To save an effect, click on the one you like in the list and click on the heart icon.

Once the effect is in the Favorites list, the heart will be filled in. Click the back arrow next to the category name to go back to the list of categories.

You can find your Favorites list in the Effects panel above the four categories.

One last thing to mention is that you can apply multiple photo effects to an image. The possibilities are endless for creating different looks. A Cartoonizer effect was used ontop of a Sketcher effect to create the look below.
