How to use digital papers in Brother Scan and Cut

1- To use digital papers with the Brother Scan and Cut, you need to either print your digital papers and then direct cut your shapes or use a 3rd party software program to create your designs with the digital paper filled in then using the scan function cut your design.
Below we will share the technique how to use a 3rd party software and scan and cut your prefilled designs.
2- I am using Inkscape. This is a free program which you can use to insert digital papers into shapes and text. You can find how to use inkscape HERE.
Using inkscape fill in your shapes/text.


3- Go to file - save a copy.


4- Choose the option so save as a PDF. A new window will appear. click OK.


5- Open your PDF using your PC software.


6- Print your PDF on the media you want to use and cut.


7-  Turn on your scan and cut machine. Click on Scan.


8- Click on direct cut.


9-Click on the scan and cut icon.


10- Insert your scan mat in your machine with the printed designs on the mat. Click the start button. This will scan the mat.


11- As you can see the image is scanned. Click OK.


12- The cut lines will appear. Click OK


13- Once you are happy with the cut lines click on the cut icon.


14- The machine will process and you can click cut again to cut the designs.


15- You can use inkscape, SCAL4 and any other 3rd party programs that will let you print out your design that you have filled with digital papers. Then let the scan and cut scan and cut with ease.
