How to Open Multiple Files Into One Design Page

Save some time by learning how to add multiple image files to one design page in Silhouette Studio.

Designs can be made up of multiple files in a single canvas. You usually need to first open each file then copy and paste to the design. In Silhouette Studio there is a quick option for opening multiple files into one design page. Follow our tutorial for this very efficient time saver.

In this tutorial we will be usingthesefestive graphicsby Tabitazn. The set is created withlightgraphics so we need to use a darkbackground for the elements to show up.

Step 1 - Create the Dark Background

Open Silhouette Studio and change your Page Setup settings to your needs. You can also follow the image below if needed.

On the left hand side click on the Draw a rectangle Tool. Click + drag out a rectangle the size of your mat. On the right side panel click on the Fill Panel that looks like a painter's palette. Choose to fill the rectangle with black.

Next, right click on the rectangle and choose Send to Back. This is so that when the designs are added they will placed on top of the rectangle.

Step 2 - Add Multiple Files to Your Design Page

With everything set up, we can now begin adding the graphics. Go to the File menu top left and select Merge. This will allow you to add an element to your design page.

The Merge window will appear where you can select the first design you want to add. Select your design and click Ok.

Adjust the size and position of the graphic as needed. We chose to center and increase the size of this specific graphic.

Now, repeat this process of going to File > Merge and adding graphics to your page.

Resize and reposition the graphics to create your design. Here we added some flowers on the corner.

Carry on building up your design with Silhouette Studio's Merge option. When you are done you can save your design by going to File > Save As > Save to Harddrive.

There you go, a quick way to add design elements without opening each individual file.
