Create Mockup for Your Printables in Photoshop

For this tutorial, we will need an image to use as “Background” and one or some images of objects, plants, flowers, etc. with a transparent background to complement the design.

1 - In Photoshop, open the image you want to use as “Background”.

2 - Open the “Printable” files you want to use and place it in your original image.

3 - Since some of the imported files where visually too small, we used “Free Transform” (Command/Control + T) to enlarge them 150% making sure “Maintain Aspect Ratio” was selected. Don’t forget to name your Layers.

4 - To apply the same scale, make sure that the proper layer is selected and go to Edit > Transform > Again (Shift + Command/Control + T). Finish placing all your Printables.

5 - Double-click on top of one of the Printables Thumbnail and apply the following “Layer Styles”:

6 - Right-click on top of the thumbnail and choose “Copy Layer Style”, then select the other Printables (using the “Shift” key), right-click on top of them and choose “Paste Layer Style”.

7 - Use “Free Transform” (Command/Control + T) to Rotate and arrange the placement of the Printables. Once you are done hit “Enter” or click the small “Checkmark” on the Top Menu.

Right-click on top of its Thumbnail and choose “Convert to Smart Object”. Change the “Blending Mode” to “Vivid Light”.

8 - Bring the “Outlined” objects into your file, Resize and/or Rotate them if needed using “Free Transform” (Command/Control + T. Once you are done hit “Enter” or click the small “Checkmark” on the Top Menu.

9 - Double-click on top of its Thumbnail and apply the following “Layer Styles”:

10 - The color of our imported object was a little dull so we used Image > Mode > Auto Tone… to fix it and we named our Layer “Flowers”.

11 - Go to the “Adjustments Panel” and create a “New Vibrance Adjustment Layer” on top of everything. Crank up the “Vibrance” to +100.

12 - With the “Flowers” Layer selected head to the “Adjustments Panel” again and create a “New Color Lookup Adjustment Layer”. Use “Kodak 5218 Kodak 2395 (by Adobe).cube” in the “3DLUT File” tab.

13 - To add different “Backgrounds”, select the bottom Layer and create a “New Color Fill Layer” by clicking on the small Black & White circle at the bottom of the Panel and choosing “Solid Color”. Use a color that goes well with your design (we used #c99e92 and #92c9c6). You can modify the color by double-clicking on top of its Thumbnail.

14 - Check out your work.
