DIY Scroll Cut Funemployed Sign

I'm not sure if you guys are on Instagram or not, but I find it to be a source of constant inspiration and entertainment. I follow a bunch of DIY craft bloggers (shocking, I know!) and one just made really fun T-shirts saying the phrase "Funemployed" and absolutely fell in love with that word.

It perfectly describes lucky people like me who get to work every day doing what they love. I mean, it doesn't matter what your job is, if you love it you are funemployed.

I used the font breaking bread from the Mighty Font bundle to type out the word. I had to break it into 2 sections so I could make it a large enough word. Print it out on paper.

Use your scissors to cut out the words. I know! I'm not using my Silhouette CAMEO for this project, I have a different toy I'm going to play with for this project.

Trace the word onto a piece of wood or MDF with a pencil.

I took that wood out to my scroll saw and cut it out! This was my first time using that saw so it's not perfect, but I'm pretty darn proud of my first attempt. It was too dangerous to attempt to take photos of the process, I decided keeping my fingers intact was more important.

I ended up using a nail file to clean up the edges since my sanding block was a little too big for the job.

The final step is adding some color to that work of art!

I'm going to hang this on the wall in my craft room, such a fun reminder that work doesn't have to be "work" I prefer to consider it play.
