Make a Guest Room Comfort Kit

Make a Guest Room Comfort Kit

The holidays are right around the corner, are you ready for all the guests coming to town? We are going to have a house full over here!

What is more exciting than walking into your room and finding a welcoming surprise waiting for you? All that stress from traveling just melts away and you start to relax.

Here is how you can make your guests their own welcome kit and start the visit off on a happy note.

The Supplies Needed:

  • decorative bucket (I got mine from the Target dollar spot, they offer some items online now!!) Any type of basket will work too!
  • heat transfer vinyl
  • iron
  • electronic cutting machine
  • goodies for the basket (I used a blanket, local chocolates, and a mug for tea)

First, pick your design you want to use on the bucket. I went with a hand-lettered design from the Christmas Craft Bundle.

The beautiful thing about this design item is it's already an SVGfile! You simply just open it in Silhouette Studio and it's ready to go!

Use the transform panel and the scale tool to size it to fit your surface.

Since I'm using heat transfer vinyl for this project you'll need to mirror the design so it cuts properly. Simply right-click to pull up the shortcut menu and flip it horizontally.

You are ready to cut! The only thing you need to do is turn on the cut lines in the send panel. Make sure to adjust your cut settings as needed per your material.

Now, cut and weed the design.

Position it on your bucket surface where you want it to be.

Next, place a towel over the design and iron it on using firm steady pressure and no steam.

You can always test a corner to make sure it's sticking right before pulling off the clear carrier sheet.

Now you're ready to fill it up with goodies!! I rolled up a blanket, added a small box of chocolates from our local candy store, and added a mug with tea. Simple comfort items!

Just place it on the corner of the bed and you're ready to make your guests stay a little happier.

Happy Holidays everyone!!
