Donaire is my current interpretation of the classic Didonas, a modern Didona that pays homage to the elegant fat-face fonts that emerged in the late 18th century.

Inspired by modernist and historical aesthetics, I designed Donaire to capture the essence of those typefaces.

Donaire, with a square proportion, combines the visual strength of thick vertical lines and thin horizontal lines, accompanied by the delicacy of transitional serifs and teardrop endings, achieving a perfect balance between legibility and visual impact.

Two versions, multiple possibilities

Roman: Pure vertical strokes, perfect for headlines and designs that demand clarity and strength.

Italic (10° slant): With lowercase letters that mimic calligraphy, ideal for emphasizing text with a dynamic and refined touch.

Both versions include 50 exclusive ornaments and symbols, alternate characters, and advanced OpenType features such as dynamic fractions, arrows, and ligatures, expanding its versatility in editorial, branding, and packaging projects.

I've implemented precise optical corrections in Donaire to ensure balanced reading and a striking aesthetic, ideal for projects that require a historical yet modern image.

Donaire is perfect for a wide variety of uses: from historical publishing and publications to modern branding and graphic design projects.
